  • The Local Purchase Coordinator is responsible for handling all procurement activities related to local vendors and suppliers.
  • This includes sourcing materials, negotiating prices, placing orders, ensuring timely delivery, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a good understanding of supply chain processes, and experience in dealing with local suppliers in the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and evaluate local suppliers for raw materials, consumables, MRO items, and services.
  • Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate terms and conditions.
  • Raise Purchase Orders (POs) in the ERP system and follow up for order confirmations and delivery.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production requirements.
  • Coordinate with warehouse and quality teams for goods receipt and inspection.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery).
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Track and reduce purchase costs without compromising quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and quality standards.
  • Assist in periodic supplier audits and performance evaluations.
  • Support in developing alternate sources for critical supplies.
  • Liaise with finance for timely processing of supplier payments

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Commerce, Engineering, or related field
  • 5–8 years of experience in procurement or local purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing setup
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word) and ERP software
  • Knowledge of procurement regulations and vendor compliance is a plus

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of local supplier markets
  • Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, etc.).
